Alice Springs |
Alice Springs is a modern town in the middle of the northern outback. It has gone from a simply telegraph station on the Overland Telegraph Line (OTL) to the major supply centre for the region. There is a distant about 1500 kilometres from all other large cities. The spring “Alice Springs" gave this city the name. Alice Springs received the rail connection (The Ghan) in 1929 and then the number of the inhabitants multiplied.
