Bendigo |
Bendigo is also in the Goldfields region of central Victoria. The arrival of Chinese miners in 1854 had a lasting effect on Bendigo, which still has a rich Chinese heritage. The "Chinese Joss House" is one of the few remaining practising joss houses (Chinese temples) in Victoria. You can visit the "Golden Dragon Museum & Gardens", which has two Chinese processional dragons and centrepieces of the annual Easter Fair Parade. "Living Wings & Things" has lizards, pythons, butterflies, wallabies and dingoes. The "Discovery Science & Technology Centre" has the usual interactive exhibits. The "Bendigo YHA" offers a night in a dorm for A$ 21.
