Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour is lain on the north coast and still a bit grotty in places, but seems to be on the up. The nearby “Nymboida River” has some of the wildest white-water rafting in Australia. You shouldn’t miss the “Muttonbird Islands” with more than 12.000 pairs of birds and the “Solitary Island Marine Park”, where warm tropical currents meet temperate southern currents and attract with unusual varieties of fish’s the divers. Surfing Beaches are the “Diggers Beach” and “Macauleys Headland”. The beaches “Park Beach” and “Jetty Beach” are nice for picnics and laying around. The “Barracuda Backpackers” offer a night in a dorm for A$ 20 and the “Coffs Harbour YHA Backpackers Resort” for A$ 22. Both have pools and the Barracuda Backpacker can help to find fruit-picking work in season.
