TOURIST ATTRACTIONS ON PHILLIP ISLAND

Situated just about 90 mins drive south of Melbourne is Phillip
Island.

It has one of the greatest attractions to offer: The Penguin
Parade
. The little Penguins can be seen in their natural habitant
from viewing stands and boardwalks. Every evening at dusk, the little penguins come ashore returning to their burrows at Summerland Beach.

The Penguins are not the only wildlife to be found on this island.
Just after entering the island you can find the Koala Conservation
Centre. There you can walk along treetop boardwalks and spot the
Koalas in their "homes", on top of the Eucalyptus trees. Also a lot
of birdlife can be seen by strolling through the centre.

You may even come across emus, wallabies, wombats and kangaroos all in their natural habitat. On the most south-westernly corner of the Island is an area called "The Nobbies". Just off the coast of this area is Seal Rock.

This is the home of an Australian Fur Seal Colony.

Phillip Island is a great destination for a family getaway as well as
everybody who wants to escape the busy citylife.
