Study in Australia

Students looking abroad for study options are choosing Australia the latest figures show.  International students opting to pursue education in Australia has increased a generous 21% in the last year.

It is believed a combination of Australia's favourable visa policies and career opportunities are key factors in accounting for the increase.

Although recent data indicates Australia's tertiary education is recession resilient, authorities are also aware these figures do not take into account the February/March intake for 2009, and may change as the global economic crisis deepens.

Australia's university education is about to receive another boost when leading world universities such as The University of London open international campuses in Australia soon.

There has been criticism however from within some Australian Universities who claim Universities with up to 75% international students is impacting the quality of education offered, with too many students being accepted into courses.

Australia's international students however continue to generate a large part of export revenue. The Rudd Government are continuing to work with Australia's international education system to ensure that demand for students to come to Australia to study is maintained and increased beyond 2010.  International students had also contributed to the rise in Tourism revenue in recent years.
