Wangaratta

Wangaratta is at the junction of the "Ovens and King Rivers". It is the turn-off for the "Great Alpine Rd" leading to the High Country. There is not much to visit here except the "Wangaratta Jazz Festival", which is one of Australia's biggest and best Jazz Festivals held at the end of October, on the weekend before the Melbourne Cup. The "Billabong Motel & Guesthouse" offers a night in a single room for A$ 30.
