Whyalla

Whyalla is an hour drive from Port Augusta and well-known as a major steel-producing centre with a deep water port. If you see the vast spread of towering chimneys, hideous port works and furnaces lurch you can get scared. No place to make yourself comfortable. But if you need some clothes or something else, there is the “Westland Shopping Centre” in the heart of the town.
